Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She also serves as the director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is well-known for starting modern scientific studies of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court settings. Prof. Goodman has published numerous papers as well as received numerous grants. She has also been recognized with numerous national and international prizes. She has consulted with numerous governments and agencies throughout the world regarding policies and research concerning child victims in the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
